Biofeedback Certification International Alliance is an autonomous nonprofit corporation created in 1981 with the primary mission to certify individuals who meet education and training standards in biofeedback and progressively re-certify those who advance their knowledge through continuing education. BCIA offers Board Certification in Biofeedback, Neurofeedback, and Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction Biofeedback. To better reflect its growing global identity, BCIA changed its name to Biofeedback Certification International Alliance in March 2010 from its original designation as the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America.



The Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback was founded in 1969 as the Biofeedback Research Society. The goals of the association are to promote a new understanding of biofeedback and advance the methods used in this practice. AAPB is a non-profit organization. Its mission is to improve quality of life through psychophysiology education, research and practice. AAPB is committed to supporting research and clinical practice in applied psychophysiology through the publication of a peer-reviewed, science journal (Journal of Applied Psychophysiology & Biofeedback), a science magazine (Biofeedback), and an annual scientific meeting. AAPB also sponsors numerous training and continuing education classes, seminars, workshops, and webinars every year. 



International Society for Neurofeedback and Research (ISNR) is an international member organization comprised of people from various professional disciplines doing neurotherapy, neurofeedback training, and research. ISNR supports education and excellence in the field of neurofeedback training and neurotherapy and seeks the validation and acceptance of this discipline by a broad spectrum of society. ISNR also supports the publication of the Journal of Neurotherapy, a peer-reviewed research journal. ISNR is the largest group of licensed professionals involved in the practice, teaching, and research of neurofeedback therapy. Members of ISNR subscribe to a code of ethics providing an added measure of accountability to the standards of their profession. The foundation's advisory board comprises leading clinicians and researchers from multiple disciplines who share a common interest in the dissemination of information about this rapidly growing field.
